Waste:
Our approach to Waste Management is to continually strive to increase the amount of material recycled from within our company.
Current Activity:
- The greater part of our cutting oil usage is Reclaim 900 Stuart Oils.
- This is recycled from our swarf recycling system by way of a crusher and centrifuge.
- The oil then being re-used in our mult-spindle turning machines.
- All our metal turnings are recycled via the companies waste contractor.
- Our cleaning bay uses a fully enclosed Methylene Chloride Ultra Sonic de-greaser being topped up by sealed safe containers with waste being removed in the same way.
- This system also incorporates a “Still”, further reducing our waste by returning clean fluid back to the de-greaser
- We operate Horizon Smog Eaters fixed to all Tornos CNC machines keeping to a minimum our air born pollution and returning collected cutting oil back to the machines.
We are currently managing the Environmental standard BS EN ISO 14001:1996, with the intent of certification in 2006.
